Inclined Obit
A condition in which a satellite is unable to maintain a geostationary position above the earth's equator. Almost all satellites generate electrical power to operate their transponders by converting the sun's energy to electricity. Energy used for station keeping, that is keeping the satellite within a very narrow range of movement north or south of the equator, is stored on board the spacecraft and over time is dissipated, usually after passage of the design life of between 8-15 years.
